Police Department Recruitment  The Police Department recently concluded its Comprehensive Recruitment Plan for the position of Police Officer. During the recruitment process, which began on November 1, 2008 and ended on November 24, 2008, 303 applications were distributed; 213 were completed and returned. On Saturday, December 6, 2008 the physical agility test and the written exam were held at St. Charles East High School. There were 157 applicants in attendance for the physical agility test, which was held in the morning. Of those who tested, 119 passed and were invited to participate in the written examination in the afternoon. The Department is grateful to the members of the Police Department, Human Resources, and the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners who volunteered their time and gave up a Saturday to assist with the testing. It would not have been a success without their help. The final eligibility list was posted in October of 2009 and will remain in effect until October of 2011.
