Pack up the family for an evening cruise. Drive by some of the spookiest houses in the St. Charles community. Pick up a complete list of the Halloween House Decorating Contest entries at the Park District beginning Friday, October 17, at 9 a.m., or online at: www.st-charlesparks.org. Homes best viewed at dusk, October 17 through Halloween night. Please be courteous and respect the homeowners’ rights and property during your adventure. Warning: Some displays may not be appropriate for all ages.

Moonlight Hayrides

Primrose Farm Park

5:30, 6:30 & 7:30 p.m.

$8 Residents (n/r $12) Enjoy an evening of old-fashioned fun on the farm. This tractor drawn hay ride departs from the Primrose Service Center and cruises around the fields of Primrose Farm Park at the height of the fall harvest. A bonfire, marshmallow roast, hot chocolate and mulled cider round out this delightful family event of the season. Questions? Call Kirk Bunke at 630-513-4370. Join the Park District for some special work days and help staff collect seeds of native plants, which will be used for ecological restoration efforts. Campton Hills Park is located on Campton Hills Road about a half mile west of Peck Road. Otter Creek Bend Wetland Park is located on Crane Road between Bolcum and Silver Glen Roads. Great events for the whole family! Scout troops and community service opportunities available, too. Refreshments will be provided.
