Family Story Time. An evening of stories and more especially for young children from 7-7:45 pm. The themes are Favorite Tales on Wednesday, October 22 and on Tuesday, November 18 it will be In, Out, Up, Down, Over and Under.

Pancake Pig will visit on Friday, November 7 at 11 a.m. Come for a visit with book character Pancake Pig from Laura Numeroff’s story. Remember your camera. In partnership with Barnes & Noble of Geneva.

Book Magic for Kindergarteners. Tuesdays, October 28 and November 18 from 4:15-5 p.m. Explore Literature with Noises Around Us in October and Around Town in November.

Kids Corner for Grades 1 & 2. Mondays, October 20 and November 10 from 4:15-5 p.m. An afternoon romp with Imagination in October and Dogs in November.

Harry Potter

All things Harry Potter will be featured on Friday, November 21 from 5:30-7:30 for students in grades 3-8 and adults. Enter the Hogwart Trivia Contest, play Muggle Bingo, guess the number of Berti Botts, and more.

Every Child Ready to Read Workshop

An early literacy workshop that will help you make the best use of the time you spend reading and interacting with children from infants through age five. Learn what you can do to help your child develop pre-reading skills. Give the gift of reading to your child. The 90-minute adults only workshop is on Thursday, November 20 from 7-8:30 pm.

Now Coming to a Town Near You: Voices of Urban Sprawl, Monday, October 6 at 7 p.m. Meet local author Gina Olszowski, who will speak about her book This is a Green Ideas program. In the future, the Library will sponsor other programs on energy-saving topics and healthy, earth-friendly living.

Lyric Opera Lecture. Tuesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. Lulu by Alban Berg. Hear the story, learn about the composer and listen to musical highlights from a member of the Lyric Opera Lecture Corps.

The Three Secrets of College Search Success, Thursday, November 13, 7-8:30 p.m. Students and their parents are invited to attend this workshop. College admissions process including campus visits, application tips, financial assistance, and finding the right school for you will be covered in the program. Come with questions. St. Charles Library card is not necessary to attend.Historic Christmas, Thursday, November 13 at 7 p.m. Author and historian, Rochelle Pennington, presents a program called Historic Christmas. Cosponsored by the Library and the St. Charles Heritage Center.

Computer Classes: Computer classes in the Technology Center are open to St. Charles Library cardholders only.

Registration opens on the third Sunday of each month for the next month’s classes and closes when the classes are filled. Please check the Library web site at www.stcharleslibrary.org for available classes.
