15 members of the community that play pivotal role in setting the course, guiding the planning process, and assisting the whole-system stakeholder event(s). The Team is a microcosm of the community.
10 persons of influence who are respected for their role in the community interviewed for the purpose of obtaining knowledge and insight on important policy, quality of life, and administrative matters.
City Employee Workshop
Approximately 42 City of St. Charles employees participated in two half-day workshops to connect, find clarity in their shared purpose, create a picture of current conditions, develop guiding principles, create a vision for the year 2014 and offer action steps toward vision attainment.
Community Workshop 1
Approximately 45 community stakeholders participated in a half-day workshop. Its purpose was to connect with each other, sharpen our sense of purpose and to make visible a picture of the "current reality" the stakeholders experience in the City of St. Charles.
Community Workshop 2
Approximately 50 community stakeholders worked together in a half-day workshop to reflect on teh data about our current reality recorded in the first Workshop, refine our expression of purpose, consider guiding principles for our conduct and behavior, envision te future of St. Charles in 2014, and recommend actions toward vision achievement in the next two-year period.
Task TeamA group of 11 city employees met as a team, and divided into sub-groups to refine vision statements and synthesize data collected from stakeholders into strategic goals and objectives.
City Council/Key Staff Workshop
The Mayor, City Council, City department directors, and several executive staff members from the City of St. Charles met to review a draft strategic planning document and provide comments and feedback.
