 The current class fee for an AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED class is $40.00.

  The St. Charles Fire Department does not offer CPR classes for healthcare providers

This is an American Heart Association (AHA) Class that covers infant, child, and adult CPR/AED

CPR classes are held on the second Thursday of each month in the Training Room at Century Station, 112 N. Riverside Avenue beginning at 5:30 p.m. The class fee is non-refundable for all participants. The fee includes a book, a CPR pocket mask with a case, and a certification card., 

How to Register:

Payment must be made at the time of registration, either by CASH or CHECK. *Checks made payable to the City of St. Charles         
Please Note: We are not set up to accept any type of credit card or debit card for payment.

Visit the Fire Department Administrative offices located at 112 N. Riverside Avenue, 2nd floor -  Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Because payment is required at the time of registration, there will be no deadline, except that it must be prior to 4:30 p.m. on the day of the class. If the applicant cannot or does not attend, we will reschedule to the next available class within two months of the original class that was registered for.  Any applicant younger than 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult. There will be no minimum age requirement; however, they must be able to perform the skill set to obtain certification.

This class does not meet the requirements for health care providers.

 

 

Do you offer fire extinguisher training for groups?

The St. Charles Fire Department offers fire extinguisher training on a per class bases.  Each class is limited to a maximum of 20 people.  The classroom portion consists of approximately 30 minutes of "classroom" teaching. Participants then proceed with hands on training where each person will extinguish a small pan fire using a fire extinguisher.

Total Class Time:  1 hour

Class Price:  $105.00 per class

To teach the class a television with a DVD player will need to be furnished by the sponsoring company, as well as a section of a parking lot away from the building and vehicles.

What is Vial of Life?

The Vial of Life is a program for seniors and people with special needs to assist rescue teams with medical treatment. A magnet is placed on the outside of the refrigerator stating a Vial of Life can be found inside.  A medical data sheet containing vital information is inserted into a Vial (large prescription bottle) and placed on the top right hand shelf of the refrigerator door. The Vial of Life kit is free. Please call 630-377-4458 to obtain your kit.
