The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 801 S Kirk Road on Thursday, May 4, 2023. The test will begin at approximately 10:00 A.M. and finish by 11:00 A.M. the same day.
The offices of the Kane County State's Attorney and Kane County Sheriff recently launched the Child Exploitation Unit, aimed at stopping the distribution of child pornography and online exploitation of children.
The Unit was created in collaboration with the St. Charles Police Department, which is providing office and technology space where a computer forensics expert can analyze electronic devices for evidence of crimes committed.
The St. Charles Police Department conducted additional traffic enforcement during the week preceding St. Patrick’s Day and on the day itself. These extra patrols were held in conjunction with the nationwide Click It or Ticket/Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement effort. The St. Charles Police joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois with their effort. This included working alongside the Kane County States Attorney’s Office which was holding a “no refusal” weekend.

The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 2600 E Main Street on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The test will begin at approximately 1:00 PM and finish by 2:00 PM the same day.
The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting water main flushing at 1972 McThurstan Court on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. The test will begin at approximately 8:00 A.M. and finish by 9:00 A.M. the same day.
Mayor Lora Vitek, acting as Liquor Control Commissioner, enforced local ordinances for violations by Alley 64, Inc., 212 W. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174. The citations were considered at the March 20, 2023, meeting of the St. Charles Liquor Control Commission. The Commission considers alcohol, tobacco, and massage license issues.
The licensee was cited for an incident on February 4, 2023, for unauthorized and dangerous fireworks display activity and making a false statement. Licensee is required to submit $2,000 in fines and $1,500 in court costs.
The 2023 St. Charles St. Patrick’s Parade is Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. on Main Street/IL Rte 64. The parade steps off at 6th Street and travels east down Main Street, ending at 4th Avenue. Traffic on both Main Street/IL Rte 64 and 2nd Street/ IL Rte 31 will be detoured beginning at 1:45 p.m.
A parking ban will be in effect on the detour route (Illinois Street, 7th Street, and State Street) as well as the parade route (Main Street) from 10 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m.

The St. Charles Police Department today announced extra patrols will be deployed during the week before and including St. Patrick’s Day. Illinois law enforcement will be working around the clock to make sure drivers are buckled up and driving safely during the campaign. From March 10 through March 19, additional officers will be assigned to DUI enforcement. St. Charles Officers will be participating in this state-wide initiative.
