Hydrant Flow Testing

St. Charles, Ill. (September 28, 2022) – The St. Charles Fire Department will be conducting Hydrant Flow Testing at 2900 Dukane Drive on Wednesday October 5, 2022.  The test will begin at approximately 8:00 A.M. and finish by 9:00 A.M. the same day.

Part of Fire Prevention Week™

The St. Charles Fire Department is hosting an open house at Fire Station #1, 112 N. Riverside Avenue, on Saturday, October 15, 2022, from noon to 3 p.m. to commemorate Fire Prevention Week. The theme this year, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape!”, highlights the simple but important actions everyone can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.

All are invited to stop by the Open House, talk with the firefighters, and learn about fire safety. Several exhibitions will be held throughout the day including:

Temporary Road Closures Scheduled Due to Weekend Events in St. Charles

Sept. 16, 17 & 18

The St. Charles Police Department wants residents and those traveling through St. Charles to know of a few upcoming road detours beginning Friday, Sept. 16, 2022. Road closures are needed to accommodate two parades and the Fox Valley Marathon, all happening this weekend.

Main Street/IL Rt. 64 will be closed between IL Rt. 25 east of the river to 7th Street on the west side of the river for the St. Charles East Homecoming parade. Police will implement a detour route beginning at 12:45 p.m. through approximately 1:30 p.m.: 

9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

The St. Charles Fire Department is holding its annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony at 7:30 a.m.,  Sept. 11, 2022, outside at the Fire Department Memorial Monument, 2 E. Main St.

The ceremony includes posting the Fire Department Memorial Flag, placing the memorial wreath, and observing a moment of silence. 

St. Charles Police Increase Patrols During Upcoming Labor Day Weekend

The St. Charles Police Department is partnering with law enforcement throughout the state to stop impaired driving and help save lives this Labor Day.

The high-visibility “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign will run between August 19th and September 6th.  During this period, motorists in St. Charles can expect to see stepped-up impaired driving patrols and seat-belt enforcement, particularly at night when seat-belt usage rates are at their lowest. Speeders and distracted drivers should also be aware.
