The City does not allow consumer use of fireworks. As an alternative, you may choose to celebrate with sparklers, but it’s still important to keep safety in mind.
Sparklers burn at more than 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit, and have the potential to cause serious injury if used improperly. Sparklers account for more than a quarter of firework-related injuries.

The City’s Home Rehabilitation and Accessibility Loan Program provides financial assistance in the form of a 0% interest, deferred payment loan to assist income-eligible homeowners to make necessary repairs and improvements to their homes.

If installing a new curbside mailbox is on your To Do list this summer, make sure you place it the proper distance from the curb to help avoid damage from snow plows this winter.
Plows are big pieces of machinery and they are pushing heavy amounts of snow off the roads. Sometimes mailboxes are damaged in the process. But placing the mailbox the proper distance from the curb can help minimize the chance your mailbox will be damaged during plowing.
Adding reflectors to the mailbox also helps increase their visibility.

The St. Charles Fire Department recently participated in a live-fire mutual aid training hosted by West Chicago. Neighboring towns were invited to train together at the facility in West Chicago.
The training incorporated as many skills as possible that fire personnel may encounter during a fire emergency, including:

We do not take daily readings so we are unable to back-date bills. Also, we will only work with the account holder regarding utility service. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
