In today’s technology age, chances are good that some of your personal information is available on the Internet. Some companies make their profits from gathering information electronically and making it available to their clients. This information is used by marketing companies, advertisers, insurance companies, attorneys and more. It is up to the “information brokers” to screen their clientele so that they do not make their service available to would-be information thieves. Sometimes, however, there is a breakdown in security measures, and the results can be devastating. 

Bicycle Registration

If a bike is lost or stolen, registration assures that, if recovered, the bike can be traced to its owner. Bicycle permits are issued only to residents of St. Charles for a $1 fee per bike. Apply at the Police Department and receive a metal tag to affix to your bicycle. Please have the following information about your bicycle ready when registering: 
 

Too Good For Drugs™

Too Good For Drugs™ is a school-based (K-8) prevention program designed to reduce risk factors and enhance protective factors related to alcohol, tobacco and other drug (ATOD) use among students. Too Good For Drugs™ has a separate, developmentally-appropriate curriculum for each grade level. Each curriculum builds on earlier grade levels, an instructional design which enables students to learn important skills sequentially and retain them year after year.

Too Good for Drugs™ builds five essential life skills:

     • Goal setting

Ride Along Program (For Residents of St. Charles)

The Ride Along Program is a program where residents can have the opportunity to ride along with an officer for a three-hour period of their choice and to see what type of duties might be expected of a St. Charles Police Officer. Criminal history checks are run on the prospective ride along applicants prior to approval. If approved, the applicant will be allowed to observe all activities that do not have elements of personal risk.

This is a 3-part program:

Vacation House Watch provides a watch service for an unoccupied residence when the occupants are on vacation. Come to the police station to fill out a form or bring in your downloaded, completed form to register. Vacation House Watch Form (PDF - 64k).
