St. Charles Mental Health Board Announces Funding Allocations

The St. Charles community has long been a strong advocate for access to proper mental health services for its residents. The mission of the St. Charles Community 708 Mental Health Board is to support and fund local, community-based, high-quality programs and services for St. Charles citizens with mental health needs, substance abuse needs, and developmental disabilities.

Each year, approximately $.04 per every $100 of property taxes collected is allocated to mental health needs for the residents of the City of St. Charles. The Community 708 Mental Health Board reviews funding requests from local mental health agencies and recommends distribution of the collected funds.

This year, after evaluating 22 applications from qualified agencies to ensure they meet the goals of our mission and community, the Mental Health Board presented its recommendations for funding allocation and those were approved by the City Council at the July 17, 2023 meeting.

The Council approved $632,269 be distributed to 21 qualified not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) agencies. Below is the list of deserving non-profits that will receive funding in 2023 and the amounts.
