The construction work on the Municipal Building continues to move forward this week. Window replacements on the upper floor of the east elevation of Old City Hall have been completed and the large “garage door” window is being installed. Replacement of the limestone base and stone copings is underway and a final washing of this elevation is scheduled in the coming weeks.
Wood Mulch is a good source of nutrients and protection for your tree. Once a year the mulch should be turned and new mulch added as needed. Mulch should be applied from the drip line toward the trunk. If this is not practical, minimum mulch circles should be 1.1 feet for small trees, 3.3 feet for medium trees and 9.9 feet for large trees. As beneficial as mulch is, too much can be harmful. The recommended mulching depth is 2 to 4 inches. Mulch should not be piled up around the base or against the trunk of trees. This is called a "mulch volcano".

The roofing contractor has completed approximately 90% of the replacement work. Roofing crews will be adding aluminum trim caps this week to conclude their work.
Utility work on South 7th Street and South 5th Street has been completed and concrete work including, curb, sidewalk and driveways is scheduled for this week.
Asphalt grinding and paving contractor is scheduled to remove and replace the roadway surface starting the week of July 29th.
The grinding, resurfacing and striping of public parking lots at the southeast corner of Second Street (Route 31) and West Main Street, and at the northwest corner of Third Avenue and East Main Street is now complete.
