Solar installation mostly completed. Substation civil work 90% completed. Substation transformer on order, delivery due in November 2017. Other major substation equipment on order or in the specification/bidding process. Substation still planned to go into service prior to summer of 2018.
The IL Route 31 Sidewalk and Culvert Improvements project is scheduled to begin Monday, August 28th . Be alert for daily lane closures along IL 31.
Paving of S. 14th Street, S. 13th Street and Fellows Street to be completed on Friday, August 25th. All residents can park in their driveways and will have access in and out tomorrow.
Note for all streets: All grass restoration will begin in early September.
Anticipated construction work for the week of August 21 - August 25:
Road Closure Alert: 38th Avenue will be closed to traffic between Illinois Avenue and Ohio Avenue, beginning Thursday evening, August 17th through Sunday, August 20th, to allow for pavement removal, base reclamation and paving the asphalt binder and surface. The road will be open to traffic for business operations on Monday, August 21st.

Work continues on the solar plant. The racks for the solar panels are 75% installed. Work on the substation fence, other minor substation items, and landscape restoration will commence after the solar plant installation is completed.
The solar plant is expected to be connected to the grid and feeding power to St. Charles in September, even though some of the elements of the substation will not be completed until spring of 2018.
