Update - 6/20/17

All conduit has been placed and backfilled, and all lanes of traffic are open.  The northbound shoulder will open this week.  Landscape restoration will start late the week of June 19 or early the week of June 26.  The right southbound lane and southbound shoulder will need to be closed for three more days in the future to complete the pavement work, but that date has not yet been determined. 

Update - 6/15/17

Update 6/15/17 – Anticipated construction work for the week of June 19-23:
East Side Streets

  • Banbury Avenue and Court – Saw cutting of concrete/pavement to begin.
  • Bent Avenue - No work at this time.

Update - 06/01/17

The pavement in the center of the road and the median has been poured and concrete is curing.  Next week (June 5), the right northbound lane and northern shoulder will be closed for the placement of the final section of conduit within the roadway.  That pavement is planned to be poured and curing the week of June 12 so that all lanes and shoulders will reopen soon thereafter.

Update - 5/24/17

A short period without rain allowed grading and gravel placement at the substation site to be mostly completed.  The site is close to grade with gravel.  Next steps including getting station power and some lighting installed, which will occur in June.  The installation of the fence around the site will not be completed until the adjacent solar field construction is completed so as to not complicate their construction activities.  Fence installation is expected in July or August.  Substation electrical equipment installations are scheduled for the winter/spring.  The project is still on targ

Update - 5/18/17

Underground work on the western shoulder and the right southbound lane is completed.  Concrete road paving on the lane will occur on Thursday 5/18, and the asphalt shoulder on 5/19.  The concrete will cure over the weekend, still closed to traffic.

On Monday, May 22, southbound traffic will be transferred onto the new pavement and the left lane of southbound Kirk will be closed, along with the northbound turn lane to Tyler and left northbound lane, effectively the center section of the road.  Duct will be placed there during the week of May 22.
